Weary adventurer has no idea how she got here

Travel is gruelling. Long days on the road turn into weeks which turn into months. Just the slow, never ending, monotony of endless walking or riding is almost enough to drive someone insane. What if you could bypass it all and just get to either where you need to be. Or, at the very least, where something remotely interesting happens? Well we were lucky enough to run into someone who claims to have done just that.

“Well, what can I say? the bard tells me we’ve been on the road for about 3 months. It’s weird because it feels like 3 or four days tops. I remember finishing an adventure, claiming our reward and hitting the road. Those first five or ten minutes were really good. I did a lot of self reflexion in that time. And then all of a sudden, I’m sat around a campfire whilst the Paladin bears his soul about some tragic crap from his past or something like that. I wasn’t really paying much attention. But it seemed really important to them so I didn’t really say much.”

“And then the next thing I remember is a few weeks down the line when we were attacked by a bunch of bandits in a forest. They didn’t really present much of a challenge but serendipitously were carrying the exact item we would need a couple of months down the road. Isn’t fate a funny thing?”

“The last thing I remember before getting here was getting woken up by our rogue because our campsite was under attack. Weirdly by the same bandits from before. It’s weird because we were hundreds of miles away from their stomping ground. And, get this, they had another key on them. “

It seems this adventurer really lucked out because some would say that long, drawn out journeys are boring.
