In this perilous world of dragons soaring through the sky and gods walking amongst us, it’s sometimes easy to forget that at some point everyone started out as a regular person who then decided to pick up a sword, a bow or a spell book. Today we’re going to chat to Frankerich Van Reys the II about his decision to leave his privilidged lifestyle to venture out into a world of mystery and danger.

“I come from modest means. That’s one thing my own personal servant says to me. He normally says it whilst laughing and shaking his head so I know it’s not mean spirited. We are a family like any other really. Daddy is away on business for long stretches of time but, fortunately I have a lot of uncles who come and keep me and mummy company.”
“I was quite happy to stay at home to be honest. It wasn’t until a band of adventurers came to town and I saw just how people worshipped them that I decided that was something I desperately wanted. So I purchased all the finest gear and entourage money could buy and ventured into our local haunted caverns to try rustle up some adventure”
“It was going swimmingly. I felt really heroic amongst the screams of horror coming from my companions. I wasn’t going to worry about it to be honest. Daddy would just give their families money and everything would be hunky dory. Even when we got to the root cause of the haunting, a great old necrotic warm. I wouldn’t have a clue but one of the hired help seem to know a lot about these things. Shame about what happened to him. But anyway, I digress. It was an epic battle for the ages in which I bravely took cover behind a Paladin’s tower shield as they called down the power of righteousness to smite our foe.“
“When all was said and done, I bravely climbed upon the beast and plunged my sword into it, thus ensuring our victory. It was incredibly brave on my part. I can’t remember much more after that as I seem to have lost my footing and woke up a day later in the comfort of my own bed.”
“All in all, it was a very successful first foray into adventuring. I don’t know what people complain about. Seemed pretty easy to me.“
